Implementation of a customised ultrapure water system for a high-performance 3 MW system as a showcase project for an early market entrant.
The project was developed for a medium-sized company based in Plettenberg that is entering the field of decentralised green hydrogen production. The aim was to provide a reliable supply of ultra-pure water for a 3 MW AEL electrolyser system, in order to supply the company’s own steelworks and a hydrogen refuelling station independently of large-scale pipeline projects. The requirement was for a compact, reliable and future-proof solution offering high water quality and consistent availability.
A tailored ultrapure water solution was developed to meet requirements for water quality, operational safety and resource efficiency. The concept combines high purity with optimised energy and water consumption. Extensive engineering work has resulted in a compact, reliable and low-maintenance system solution designed for the long-term operation of the electrolyser and to minimise downtime.
The system has been designed to provide a stable supply of ultrapure water in continuous operation, combining a compact design with continuous monitoring and a high level of process reliability.
