For OEM projects involving complex raw water conditions, specific process requirements or strict industry-specific specifications. This is where Herco really shows its strength: whilst large corporations often fail due to rigid processes, our agile company size allows us to respond quickly and in a solution-oriented manner. Whether it’s challenging installation situations, customised automation or specific operating modes – we develop precisely tailored special solutions that fit perfectly into your system concept. More on customised solutions
Based on certified management systems in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015, we develop and manufacture water treatment systems as an integral part of the overall project and offer you:
Systems are comprehensively tested and fine-tuned in our in-house test facility prior to delivery. This simplifies integration at the OEM and enables fast plug-and-play commissioning.
We support OEMs with CE compliance, risk assessments, ISO certificates and technical documentation. STEP data simplifies integration into existing designs. 100% final testing in our in-house test facility provides a reliable basis for approval and project implementation.
Our certificates you will find in the download section.
Depending on your requirements, we develop standardised solutions with high replicability or customised systems tailored to specific water qualities, industries and operating conditions, following these steps:
Collect data on the raw water, treated water quality, application, industry, installation conditions and operating parameters.
Define the appropriate system architecture, either standardised or customised.
Clarify interfaces, control systems, integration and project-specific requirements.
Manufacturing, documentation and technical implementation.
Commissioning, servicing, spare parts and technical support.
Our systems are designed for a long service life and have an average lifespan of around 20 years. With original spare parts and wear parts, we ensure the long-term availability, performance and operational reliability of our systems: fast, precisely fitting and tailored to the specific system. Herco develops water treatment systems for OEMs across a range of industrial sectors. The solutions are tailored to specific industry applications and designed to meet requirements such as process water, ultrapure water, cooling circuits, cleaning and water recycling.
In surface technology and semiconductor manufacturing, water quality is a process factor that directly affects the product. Whether in coating systems, paint lines, anodising or wafer cleaning: treated water ensures consistently replicable results and high product quality.
For OEMs in this sector, ultrapure water is a key factor. Ultrapure water for PW, WFI and sterile applications supports GMP- and FDA-compliant processes and reliably ensures production, cleaning and consistent quality in the long run.
In the food and beverage plant engineering sector, water is a key process factor, also for OEMs. Whether it’s bottling lines, brewery equipment or dairy processing plants: treated process water, CIP water and product water reliably support hygiene, product quality and consistently stable operations.

In industrial plant and machinery construction, water treatment is a key component of reliable processes. It supports corrosion protection, water recycling, hygiene and streak-free results – from cooling systems to washing, laboratory and production facilities.
In the construction of hydrogen and electrolysis plants, ultra-pure water is an essential requirement. It ensures the long-term stable operation of electrolysers, protects sensitive components and creates reliable conditions for efficient technical processes.

For OEMs in the energy plant and power station construction sectors, water treatment is critical to operations. Whether it is boiler water, feed water or cooling circuits, desalination and chemical treatment help to specifically prevent corrosion, scale formation and efficiency losses.
A modern systems provider acts as a technical link. At Herco, we see ourselves as a specialist partner for OEMs and the plant engineering sector. We do not develop isolated components, but manufacture ready-to-connect systems that can be perfectly integrated into industrial applications and machine designs. In selected sectors such as pharmaceuticals or medical technology, we also serve end customers directly, thereby gaining valuable practical experience that is directly incorporated into our OEM modules.
Customised solutions are always required when standard systems reach their limits – whether due to challenging raw water parameters, limited space or specific industry standards. This is one of our greatest strengths: thanks to our agile company size, Herco can respond much more flexibly and faster than large corporations typically found in the market. We combine in-depth engineering expertise with short decision-making processes to implement even complex custom requirements promptly and precisely.
Different technologies are used depending on the water quality requirements. Herco’s portfolio covers all standard processes, including reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, electrodeionisation (EDI), filtration, water softening and desalination. We select the process so that it achieves the specific purity grades (e.g. ultrapure water) whilst ensuring maximum operational reliability.
The integration must function flawlessly in terms of both mechanics and control systems. We place great emphasis on system understanding: our systems feature standard interfaces and plug-and-play solutions. Herco takes issues such as integration into the higher-level PLC, space requirements and maintenance accessibility into account right from the planning stage, in order to keep the workload for the OEM as low as possible.
In industry, reliability and documentation are critical to success. Herco manufactures in Germany and operates in accordance with certified management systems compliant with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015. Our processes are documented in such a way as to support our partners’ quality assurance and meet all relevant industry standards.
Absolutely. Herco is designed for scalability. We deliver both customised technical projects and standardised solutions for mass production, for example for machinery manufacturers with repetitive requirements. Our partners benefit from the combination of industrial manufacturing capacity and the agility of a specialist SME.
Long-term operational reliability is our top priority. A good partner provides technical support, a reliable supply of spare parts and service expertise even after delivery. Herco supports its partners and customers throughout the entire lifecycle of the system to ensure consistently high water quality and minimal downtime.
Herco develops water treatment systems for OEMs across a wide range of industries, including food and beverage plant engineering, pharmaceutical and biotech plant engineering, semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, mechanical engineering, surface technology, power generation, HVAC, industrial cleaning and washing systems, laboratory equipment, hydrogen and electrolysis plants, the automotive supply industry, and textile and paper machinery manufacturing. The systems are tailored to the specific application, for example for process water, ultrapure water, cooling circuits, boiler feed water, cleaning, CIP processes or water recycling.
