Treatment of surface water to produce ultrapure boiler feed water that meets the highest quality standards on a continuous basis.
A high-performance water treatment system was required for the construction of a new power station by a regional energy supplier, to feed a high-pressure boiler with a steam turbine. The particular challenge lay in the use of surface water as the source water. The requirement was therefore for a robust and process-reliable customised system that would ensure the highest quality of ultrapure water and reliable continuous operation in an industrial environment.
A multi-stage customised system was installed on stainless steel skids, comprising two parallel lines. The combination of ultrafiltration, multi-stage reverse osmosis, EDI, membrane degassing and a polisher ensures the required water quality, even when dealing with challenging surface water. The result is a durable, flexibly integrable solution designed to ensure the reliable operation of the power station.
