Women in management positions: Room for improvement in Germany and a success at Herco.
Today is International Women's Day.
Let’s take a look at the proportion of women in management positions in Germany. According to the Federal Statistical Office, less than a third (29%) of management positions are currently held by women. This observation applies to both middle management and top positions. This puts Germany at the bottom of the European rankings. There is another way: Latvia is the leader in the EU with a 45% share of women in management positions. In this are Germany lags behind in an international comparison.
What do these figures have to do with us?
Herco is part of the Pollet Group, a global network of 47 companies that treat water, design pool projects and improve healthcare. This includes the Pollet Water Group (PWG), Pollet Pool Group (PPG) and Pollet Medical Group (PMG), which have been managed by Sofie Pollet for many years. Alongside Edwin Locker, she is also Managing Director of Herco Wassertechnik GmbH. The daughter of Jacques Pollet, the founder of the water company, is responsible for the success story that the company has become. Since entering the water industry in 1992, the Pollet Group has continuously developed into a leading supplier of water treatment systems and components.
We have been part of this success story since 2006 and share the enthusiasm and passion for water technology. At the same time, gender and origin play no role for us.
